The Same Rules for Every Trader
At Pivex, a trader with ten years of screen time and a trader in their first month take the same Challenge. There is one phase, one profit target and one set of loss limits. Nobody gets a softer version or a stricter one.
- Profit target
- 10% of the starting balance
- Daily loss limit
- 4%, renewed every trading day at 00:00 UTC
- Maximum loss
- 6% of the starting balance, static
- Minimum trading days
- 5, each with at least one trade
- Time limit
- None
- Consistency
- Largest trading day under 50% of total profit
The rules do not change with account size. Only the dollar value of each limit and the price change. On a $10K account, the 6% maximum loss is $600; on a $100K account, it is $6,000.
What Changes With Experience
Since the rules stay fixed, the real difference between traders is what they bring to the Challenge. Two things matter most.
- Preparation: how well you know the platform, your setups and your own habits when a trade moves against you.
- Account size: how much dollar room the limits give you, and what it costs.
A newer trader and a seasoned one can both pass. They usually get there by different routes, and the three paths below describe each one.
Three Paths:
Beginner, Intermediate, Professional
Beginners
If you are new to trading or new to prop firms, start with the basics: what a simulated account is, how the loss limits work and how to size a trade. Pivex Academy covers these basics, and the beginner guide lays out a plan for your first 30 days.
Intermediate Traders
You already trade, but you have not passed an evaluation yet, or you want to move up in size. The focus here is a repeatable process: planning around the daily limit, using the 5 trading days well and reviewing every session.
Professional Traders
You have a tested approach and want room to run it. The professional guide covers the $100K account, rewards, the scaling plan to $1,000,000 in simulated capital and the rules at each stage.
Which Prop Firm Account Is Right for Me?
There is no single right answer, but your experience points to a sensible place to start. Use the table to think it through. It describes an approach, not a result.
| Experience level | Size reasoning | First focus |
|---|---|---|
| New to trading | $10K or $25K keeps the entry price lower while you learn how the limits feel | Pivex Academy, small positions, a trading journal |
| Trading, not yet funded | $25K to $50K, chosen so your usual stop sits well inside the 4% daily limit | A repeatable plan and steady days that respect the consistency rule |
| Experienced and consistent | $50K or $100K once your process handles drawdowns calmly | The reward schedule and scaling at the Pivex Trader stage |
