What Is Prop Trading
Proprietary trading, usually shortened to prop trading, describes a firm backing traders and sharing the results with them. Traditional prop desks hire a small number of traders and give them access to the firm's own capital. The online model works differently: anyone can apply by taking an evaluation, and the firm decides who qualifies by how they trade rather than by a CV or an interview.
The idea behind it is simple. A trader who manages risk well and stays consistent is valuable whether or not they have a large personal account. An evaluation gives that trader a fair way to demonstrate it under fixed rules, and it gives the firm a clear, repeatable way to select traders.
Online prop firms differ in many details: how many phases the evaluation has, how losses are measured, whether there is a deadline, how often rewards can be requested and which markets are available. These details shape the experience far more than any slogan, so it is worth reading the rules of a firm before you start.
Where Pivex Fits
Pivex is a prop trading firm built around a one-step evaluation called the Challenge. You trade a simulated account that runs on real-time market data, so your own money is never placed in the markets. Your results on that account decide whether you move on to the Pivex Trader stage, where you can request rewards. Pivex is not a broker and does not provide investment services.

The 1-Step Challenge
Many evaluations ask traders to pass two or even three phases in a row. Pivex uses a single phase. You reach the profit target once while staying inside the loss limits, and the evaluation is complete. There is no deadline, so you can trade at a pace that suits your strategy and your schedule.
| Rule | Pivex Challenge |
|---|---|
| Profit target | 10% of the starting balance |
| Daily loss limit | 4%, renewed every trading day at 00:00 UTC |
| Maximum loss | 6% of the starting balance, static |
| Minimum trading days | 5 days with at least one trade |
| Time limit | None |
| Consistency | Your largest trading day stays under 50% of total profit |
The maximum loss is static. It is measured from your starting balance and does not move as your account grows, so you always know exactly where the limit sits. The daily loss limit gives every trading day a fresh boundary and keeps one difficult session from affecting the rest of the week.
The minimum of five trading days and the consistency rule share one purpose: Pivex looks for repeatable results rather than one lucky trade. Your dashboard shows every objective with its current status, so you can see at a glance what is left to do.

After You Pass:
The Pivex Trader Stage
When you meet every objective, an Upgrade Account banner appears in your dashboard, and three short steps take you to the Pivex Trader stage.
- 1Request the upgradeClose your open trades and request the upgrade. The Pivex team then reviews the account.
- 2Accept the Trader AgreementYou accept the Trader Agreement in your dashboard. It sets out how the Pivex Trader stage works.
- 3Verify your identityIdentity verification, often called KYC, takes a government photo ID and a short selfie check.
At the Pivex Trader stage there is no profit target. The 4% daily and 6% maximum loss limits stay in place, along with the five trading day minimum and the consistency rule. The focus shifts from reaching a number to trading steadily.
Rewards
Rewards are how traders at the Pivex Trader stage share in the results of their simulated account. The standard reward split is 80% of the profit on the account.
- Your first reward request opens 14 days after the Pivex Trader account is activated, once you have five trading days and verification is complete.
- After that, you can request a reward every 14 days.
- Rewards are paid in USD by bank transfer, from a $50 minimum, after each request is reviewed.
- Pivex covers its own bank transfer commission. Your bank may apply its own fees for receiving the payment.
Rewards depend entirely on your own trading and are not guaranteed. It helps to treat the Challenge as a test of process: the risk you take per trade, your discipline on losing days and your patience on winning ones.
